About

Kaji ve Hono

Can you see the sadness in their eyes?
These two inseparable souls, now named Kaji and Hono — meaning fire — come from the fire-ravaged southeast of Turkey. This year, wildfires swept through entire cities, turning once-safe homes into ashes.

Kaji and Hono once had a family. They had soft pillows, warmth, and love. But when their family lost everything, they thought the only option was to surrender them to a shelter. In Turkey, a “shelter” is not a safe haven — it’s often a death sentence.

We couldn’t leave them there. We brought them from Hatay to Istanbul, to give them a chance. But this is not the life they deserve. These gentle, grieving hearts have nothing left but each other — and their quiet hope for a second chance.

Let’s not let their story end in loss. Help us find a loving forever home where Kaji and Hono can finally feel safe again.

Personality:

Kaji and Hono are calm, gentle souls who carry quiet sadness in their eyes. They’re shy at first — a little scared after all they’ve been through — but never aggressive. Their kindness shows in the way they lean into each other for comfort, always moving softly, never demanding. They have the sweetest, most peaceful presence. With time, patience, and love, they will blossom into the most grateful companions.
