About
Louie
I've rewritten it to sound more natural, emotional, and adoption-focused while keeping Louie's story authentic:
Louie’s path crossed with Paws of Hope Rescue on a day we will never forget.
His previous adopter had just received the news that Louie was FeLV-positive and brought him to the veterinary clinic to be euthanized. We happened to be there for another rescue cat that day. When we learned why Louie was there, we simply could not walk away. FeLV is not a death sentence. Many FeLV-positive cats live long, happy lives as cherished indoor companions.
We arrived at the clinic with one cat and left with two.
One of them was Louie — a magnificent boy with striking green eyes, a thick tomcat neck, a huge cuddly body, and the sweetest, most trusting personality imaginable. Louie loves people. He is affectionate, gentle, and wonderfully naïve in the way only truly kind-hearted cats can be.
Sadly, Louie has spent far too long living in a cage. While we have done our best to keep him safe, a rescue filled with dozens of other cats is no place for a cat like him to spend his life. What Louie needs is a home. A sofa to stretch out on. A human to follow from room to room. A family to call his own.
If you have ever loved a big, affectionate male cat, Louie may be the companion you have been looking for. We would be happy to answer any questions about FeLV and help you understand how manageable it can be in everyday life.
Louie was given a second chance when he was spared from euthanasia. Now he is waiting for someone to give him the chance to truly live.

Personality:
Louie is the kind of cat who wins hearts without even trying. Gentle, affectionate, and incredibly people-oriented, he loves being close to his humans and is always ready for cuddles. Despite everything he has been through, he remains trusting and optimistic, greeting life with a sweet, easy-going nature. Louie has the charm of a big tomcat but the soul of a teddy bear — loving, loyal, and happiest when he is receiving attention or simply sharing a quiet moment with someone he loves.
