It was an ordinary day—we were heading to the European side of Istanbul using public transportation. But then, something stopped us in our tracks: a green nylon bag lying on the ground, and on top of it, a heavily pregnant cat. She had nowhere to go in this crowded city we’ve taken over. With no safe shelter in sight, she had placed all her trust in that flimsy green bag beside the escalator, hoping someone might notice her. Most people passed by without seeing her desperation. We feel incredibly lucky that our paths crossed with this gentle, resilient young mother. Not long after, she gave birth to six beautiful babies—each one a testament to her quiet strength. She trusted us, and we’ll never forget the silent plea she made that day.
