About

Nikita

Niko and Nikita arrived in Istanbul carrying the kind of silence that only loss can create. They came from the southeast of Turkey after the devastating fires that swallowed entire neighborhoods, leaving thousands of families with nothing but ashes behind them. Somewhere in that destruction, these two cats lost the world they once knew — a home, familiar voices, warm corners to sleep in, and the safety of belonging to someone.

When everything around them collapsed, they became two unwanted survivors in the middle of chaos. Frightened and confused, they were at risk of ending up in a municipal shelter, where sensitive house cats like them rarely cope. We could not let that happen. So they made the long journey from Hatay to Istanbul together, clinging to the only thing they still had left: each other.

Niko and Nikita are deeply bonded souls. They sleep curled together, search for comfort in one another, and move through unfamiliar places side by side as if trying not to lose the last piece of their old life. Behind their quiet eyes is heartbreak, but also hope — the fragile hope that somewhere, someone will open their heart to them again.

They have already lost one home to tragedy. We are determined not to let them lose their future too.
