Meet Pepper — one of the 17 cats we rescued from Nevşehir Shelter.
A place no living being should ever have to endure.
When Pepper arrived, she was nothing but skin and bones. Terrified. Exhausted.
She had just given birth to tiny babies — but she was still a baby herself. Her body was too weak, she had no milk… and her kittens didn’t make it.
For a long time, we weren’t sure if Pepper would survive either.
But she did.
It’s been a year now.
Pepper is safe, and she has formed a quiet bond with her caretaker. But the world is still a big place for her. She is independent, selective with people — never aggressive, just careful. A gentle loner who carries her past in her eyes.
Pepper is not the cat who will run to greet you at the door.
She is the cat you earn. The one you give space to. The one who slowly, in her own time, lets you in.
