About
Babi
In my country, there’s a saying: "What happened to her wouldn’t even happen to a cooked chicken.” That’s Babi — a survivor of unthinkable cruelty, yet still full of love.
She was found in 2018 by the roadside, sealed inside a large fabric bag. We noticed that the bag moved. When we opened it, we found Babi — scared, suffocating, and heavily pregnant. It’s likely her pregnancy was the reason she was discarded like trash.
She gave birth to 12 puppies. Most didn’t survive. Afterwards, Babi went on living in the streets — back then, things weren’t as brutal, and a kind volunteer would feed her now and then. But her luck ran out again when she was hit by a car, leaving her with badly broken legs. After several surgeries and metal plates placed to help her heal, we knew we couldn’t let her go back to that life.
Since then, she’s been with us — safe at last.
Despite everything, Babi is not bitter. She’s affectionate, loves to be cuddled, and still believes in the kindness of humans. She gets along well with other dogs, but not with cats. Her body may carry the scars of the past, but her spirit? It’s unbreakable.
