About
Fuji
Fuji’s story is a sad one.
Our paths crossed when she had already given up on life and was quietly waiting for death inside a cruel government shelter. Fuji was not the dog barking for attention or begging to be saved. She was the one who no longer dared to hope.
Taking her out was a struggle. She wouldn’t let anyone touch her — and truthfully, she still doesn’t. Fuji trusts us only enough to watch us from a distance. She is like a lonely wolf, carrying the weight of a painful past that we will probably never fully know.
We respect the distance she needs. She earned that right long ago.
But little by little, day by day, Fuji comes a bit closer. A softer look. A quieter fear. A tiny crack in the walls around her heart.
And maybe that means hope is still waiting there, somewhere at the top of Fuji Mountain.
