About
Lucky
Last September, we received a heartbreaking call from one of the poorest districts of Istanbul. An elderly woman was desperately trying to help a pregnant stray dog who was being chased away, abused and pelted with stones by local children. We rushed to rescue her.
She arrived exhausted, terrified and heavily pregnant. Shortly after reaching safety, she gave birth to four puppies. One baby passed away within days. Their mama fought hard too, but heartbreakingly, we lost her within a week.
One of the surviving puppies was Lucky.
Today, Lucky is almost one year old — and despite everything he went through before he even opened his eyes properly to the world, he grew into a dog absolutely full of love.
Lucky is friendly, affectionate and always looking for attention. He loves people, gets along well with other dogs, and becomes incredibly excited the moment he gets the chance to run freely outside his cage. Watching him run feels bittersweet sometimes… because you can clearly see how much life this boy has inside him.
But shelters are not places where young dogs should grow up.
Lucky is bored behind the cages. He is ready for adventures, long walks, cuddles, grass under his paws, and a family to call his own. Every time we leave his pen, he looks at us with those hopeful eyes and gives the warmest goodbye hugs.
Please help Lucky finally leave the shelter behind. He has already waited almost his whole life.
