I don’t know what you endured before the moment our eyes met — you, trembling behind the cold, rusted bars of that dreadful shelter. You were crying silently, pushing your tiny paws through the wire, as if reaching out for someone to save you. That someone became me.

You were so scared. Who hurt you? Were you ever held with love, ever called someone's girl? I’ll never know. But what I do know — with all my heart — is that I will not give up on you. Not now, not ever.

Sebekcan is a shy, gentle soul who doesn’t belong behind bars. She’s a house dog — the kind who curls up quietly at your feet, who just wants to feel safe and loved. But time is not her friend in that shelter.

She needs a chance.
