About

Xena

Jim Chee and Xena are mother and son. For many long years, they lived a life no living soul deserves.

They were kept chained in a car maintenance area inside an industrial zone, surrounded by noise, concrete, and loneliness. In front of them, there was often nothing more than stale bread and dirty water. No soft touch. No kind words. No warmth. They grew up without ever learning what love or safety felt like.

Then one day, the person who was supposed to “care” for them beat them so brutally that they were left close to death.

Their healing took months.

When they finally came to us, they carried not only physical scars, but deep emotional ones too.

Jim Chee still finds it in his heart to trust humans again. He approaches gently, hoping maybe not all people are cruel. But Xena… Xena is still terrified. She feels safer keeping her distance, watching from afar, unsure if humans can ever truly be safe.

And honestly… who could blame her?

We are searching for a very special person — someone patient, compassionate, and understanding enough to become part of their rescue story. Someone who can show Jim Chee and Xena what a real life feels like. A life where there are no chains, no fear, no violence.

They survived hell. Now they deserve to discover what happiness feels like.

Personality:

Xena carries the invisible scars of everything she has survived. When she comes eye to eye with a person, she often begins to cry softly and tremble from fear, as if expecting the worst before anything has even happened. Trust does not come easily to her — and honestly, her past explains why.

She keeps her distance from humans and needs time, patience, and gentleness to feel safe. But beneath all that fear is a deeply sensitive soul who simply never had the chance to learn that people can also be kind. Xena is not aggressive or angry; she is just heartbroken and frightened. She needs someone willing to move slowly, respect her boundaries, and help her discover safety for the very first time in her life.
